Adult Ski Courses
The UK's leading coach Martin Bell will be running two Davos Dreams skills camps this coming winter: a pre-season warm-up on the magnificent Hintertux glacier in Austria, and in March in Davos itself.
The sessions will centre on an unbeatable mix of techniques and drills to sharpen your skills on the slopes - and in the evening there's the chance to relax over dinner with like-minded skiers.
Pre-dinner drinks will also feature full video analysis of all the day's skiing action and tips for further improvements.
Martin's ethos is one of learning through maximum ski mileage. "We're going to get a lot done in a short time," he says.
Our aim is to gain the maximum benefit from the design of modern skis, using edge to increase speed, power and grip, especially on gentler slopes.
Stance: correct balance of ankle, knee and hip flexing, to be centred over the ski.
Edge: Learning to feel the edge: carving in a traverse; garlands; railroad tracks.
Power: using hip angulation to drop the hip inside; countering with the shoulders; strong inside half.
Refinements: matching the inside shin to avoid the "A-frame"; pulling the inside boot back; linking carved turns with a quick cross-under transition.
Rates & Dates:
Hintertux Nov 7-11
3.5 day course: £345 €510 CHF 850
4 nights HB 4**** Hotel Central, Lanersbach £310 €450 CHF 740
